Nature's Big Spring Water is a family-owned spring water company in Calhoun, Georgia, bottling naturally alkaline water at the source from Big Spring since 2007.

Where does Big Spring water come from?

The water rises from Big Spring, a source people have been drawn to for centuries. The Cherokee Nation used it as a primary water source for hundreds of years, and during the Civil War both sides drew from it to replenish their supplies. In 1953, Big Spring was recognized by the Georgia Historical Commission (Marker Number 064-24) noting its impact and importance during the May 1864 encampment of Union army troops.

What you're drinking comes from a confined aquifer—water trapped deep underground, sealed beneath carbonate rock so it isn't touched by rainwater or surface run-off. It travels vast distances through that rock, picking up essential minerals along the way, which is what keeps it among the most pristine water you can find. We start with a source that's about as protected as water gets, then filter anyway.

What's in the water?

The mineral profile is the whole point. Big Spring water carries calcium, potassium, magnesium, and silica, among others, and that rich mineral content is what gives it a natural pH of 7.5 or higher. No additives, no adjustment—the alkalinity comes from the rock, not a lab.

How is the water filtered?

Unlike most bottled waters, ours has zero additives—no minerals adjusted, nothing put back in. The source is already clean; the filtration is the safeguard. Our process pairs Ultraviolet Light and particle filtration with an advanced granular activated carbon (GAC) system, removing contaminants like PFAS while protecting the minerals and alkalinity that give the water its character.
